SHE

WHO IS

BRAVE

IS FREE

Becca is enjoying life as a pre-med student in Malibu, California, studying at Pepperdine University.  She is a medical intern for UCLA Hospital, specifically the orthopedics department.  In her free time she dances with Pepperdine's elite dance company called "Dance in Flight" and does fundraising for St. Jude and Childhood Cancer.   She is also a person of immense faith, and often brings visitors to the Pepperdine Chapel as a first stop in Malibu.  She will be going to Chengdu, China in the summer of 2019 to fulfill her wish, experience the culture, and see baby pandas -- the one thing that helped her heal most.  She wants to thank her talented team of doctors and nurses at UCLA and in Colorado, her cherished friends, teachers and her family for believing in her and reminding her to always "BE BRAVE."  She has already survived so much, not mention her and her little red car called "Hot Stuff" escaping the Malibu Fire of 2018, while on critical care measures.  God has chosen to keep Becca alive for something greater than herself.  She is co-authoring a book that will uncover a story like no other ever told.  Many already believe she is the next great pioneer in American Medicine.  And for being so young, Becca Tuska is about to take the world by storm.

Be Brave Becca

Becca lives on an IV to her heart to keep her alive.  She suffers from severe gastroparesis, meaning her digestive tract is paralyzed.  But that doesn't stop her, and she continues to share her story and help other children and peers who have had to face brave circumstances.  She attends Pepperdine University studying pre-med with a minor in art and is on the Dance in Flight company at Pepperdine.  She recently shaved her head for St. Bauldrick's for childhood cancer research, so people often know her as the "girl with short hair."  She helped raise more than $24,000 for Children's Hospital Colorado in spring 2018 during an event called Dance for a Difference at PACE Center, Parker, CO.   She is co-authoring a non-fiction novel planned to make shelves by 2020.  See left, she is shown hosting the Junior Clara Club (as a past Clara in the Nutcracker Ballet), where she continues to inspire young dancers to always go for their dreams, no matter what the circumstances.
